Laura: “What are you doing?”
Jim: “I’m washing my feet. In case I die in my sleep.”
Laura: “Cleanliness doesn’t necessarily prevent death, Jim.”
Jim: “No, but it can stop shame. Dead in its tracks.”
Laura: “Have a shower.”
Jim: “I won’t be able to sleep then.”
Laura: “So you don’t die in your sleep.”
Jim: “I’ve thought of that. But then I would be awake when I die and I’d rather be asleep. That is if I die.”
He’s got issues.
This is the reason why I personally found GBH really hard to watch. I have anxiety and neurotic issues, too [not NEARLY as bad as this, though], and I understand that some of things you obsess or worry about don’t really make sense, but you just rationalize it. So watching this made me think about my own problems and then get all anxious about them. ANXIETY ABOUT ANXIETY.
Anyway, I think Michael and Robert Lindsay both did a really fantastic job, fabulous acting all around.
That’s pretty much how I felt.
